Trusts & Investments
We
think well beyond today's transactions. We think ahead to
tomorrow's relationships.
In helping our clients build and maintain wealth, we employ a highly disciplined approach, designed to remove the subjective component from investment decisions. At NSBT, this approach always centers on you, our client. This is where we do our investing, in building a relationship with you. Only in this way can we develop and maintain a plan that meets your return objectives within the parameters of your tolerance for risk.
Why is an Estate Plan Necessary?
North Side Bank and Trust Company
knows that you have devoted a considerable amount of time and
thought to your personal finances over the years. Your planning
should include the eventual transfer of those assets.
By creating a good estate plan, you
may not only save taxes, but you also ensure that your property
is transferred to the people you specifically selected. Trusts
can be an important tool in accomplishing both objectives. They
are often used as part of a plan to reduce taxes and/or assist
loved ones with their financial matters.
Our trust officers can help you
prepare an estate plan by working with you and your attorney to
develop strategies that meet your unique family benefit
requirements.
What
is a Trust?
A Trust is a legal arrangement naming
a responsible party (usually a bank trust department or a
trusted person) to hold, safeguard and invest assets (stocks,
bonds, cash, real estate, etc.) for someone else’s benefit.
Trusts usually last for a
predetermined period of time or for a beneficiary’s lifetime, if
appropriate. At the end of the trust’s existence the assets are
distributed according to the written terms of the trust document
allowing the person who established the trust to control the
ultimate distribution of the assets.
North Side Bank trust officers take
pride in administering and investing trusts to provide for the
needs and best interests of the trust beneficiaries.
Non-deposit investment products are not insured
by the FDIC or any other agency of the United States, are not obligations of, or guaranteed by The North
Side Bank and Trust Co. Non-deposit investment products are
subject to investment risks, including the possible loss of the
principal amount invested.
